I'm so Crazy

It seems like I don't write about anything but work lately. My job is out of control. I don't have time to do my real job and I feel like I'm barely able to keep my head above water. It has been pretty amazing taking over the small business. When I was stressed about how everything was going to work, small answers keep falling into place and it seems to be working out. Today, I had to grocery shop, discharge a client, move an office, train staff on a computer program, make a millions small decisions, deliver food to the day care, walk up three flights of stairs a million times and so much more.

The good news is that the staff the was coming in at 9p to relieve me got there at 8p so I got to come home early. There are small miracles happening around me and it's going to be okay!

I'm Exhausted

Our company technically bought the assets of another company and we are taking on all their business. Today was the day all their employees were terminated and I spent most of the day offering jobs, not offering jobs and getting a turned down on a job offer. I am so tired. I was so worried that I would have to work all night long. I might have to tomorrow night. I'm in for a
long week, month, etc. until the dust has settled and the transition is over.

A very good weekend

Let me start off my saying that I wish I had my camera this weekend but I forgot it.

Saturday morning I got up and made a apple/blueberry cobbler for the reunion. As we got around for the road trip, I also made fried potatoes to take with us. Very yummy. We finally headed out to the big reunion.

Cowboy loaded a box of veggies for his old neighbors, Ross and Betty. Ross and Betty are the cutest old couple you will ever meet. We stopped by and to see them a couple of weeks ago. Ross's health is failing and it sad to see. We stopped to visit and drop of the veggies and they weren't home. So it was off to the reunion.

Cowboy's adopted mom's family was present for the family reunion, including his best friend, Mom's son. They were like two peas in a pod and pretty inseparable all day. It is so good to see him with his friends. The food was awesome. The company was good.

There was a little boy there, Garrett. He became my buddy and wanted to play chase and tickle monster. He and a little girl there about wore me out. Later, I was talking with Garrett's mother and she told me that Garrett cried when John McCain didn't become the president. She said he was very interested in the election. So I called Garrett over to have a conversation with him. I finally asked him who the president was, "Brock O'bama". Did you vote for him? "no". Who did you vote for? "Lebron James". It was the cutest thing. His mom gave him the right name and then he tole me he wanted "John Cain" to be the president. I wanted to take little Garrett home with me.

Cowboy got a call from Betty to thank us for the veggies and then told us that Ross had a stroke and was in the hospital. Betty has an eye condition and can not see to drive so she is dependent on others. Ross is her world for many reasons. We headed out pretty quickly and went to the hospital to see Ross. He actually looked better than we had anticipated. He was hitting on the nurses so I know he was good. He got a little teary eyed when we left. My heart broke.

We then stopped by to see Betty. We did a few things for her. Programmed our numbers into her cell phone since she can't see to do that and taught her to use the voice activation calling key. Cowboy also re-wrote her phone list in big letters so she could see them. Our heart goes out to them. They are such a cute couple and are the best people you will ever meet.

We got home very late and were worried about her being home alone so long by herself. Come to find out, Cowboy's son had stopped by and let her out. Good for my Sadie.

Today has been a total lounge day. I made some salsa from our garden veggies and took care of some laundry. Cowboy cleaned up around the house. We took a little nap and other than that, just not a whole lot happening around the house.

It was a really good weekend.

TGIF

I am so thankful that today is Friday. Cowboy and I are just exhausted. It's been a really long week at work, which he has been so wonderful to help me. We have just been on the go all week and have a busy day tomorrow.

I have worked so much this week that I left work around 1p today and met my hubby on the golf course. I played really well with the exception of a couple of holes. Cowboy only beat me by one stroke on the front 9 and by 6 strokes on the back nine. We have a running 9 stroke bet and it looks like I won today. We played with a couple of brothers.

Al has played for 35 years and Steve is just picking the game back up after 17 years. They were very nice and it was nice playing with them. Al told me he was impressed with my game since I played the day from the men's regulation tees and didn't once hit from the women's tees. Very nice compliment.

My brother and his family took my mom and headed out to Hilton Head for a little vacation. My mom was so excited she has never seen the ocean. I called my brother and asked him to buy my mom a digital camera. She uses those cheap disposables and her pictures aren't very clear. I wanted her to have good memories of her trip. I can't wait to hear if she is surprised.

Tomorrow we are going to a family reunion. Cowboy's adopted mom has a family reunion every year at this time and tomorrow is the day for it. Cowboy says we are leaving early in the morning. I'll have to have Sunday to recuperate.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Crazy Work Week

Work has been super crazy this week. We had to move a part of our programs on Monday and it made for a very long sweaty day. I was so tired when I got home that I could barely keep my eyes open. The merger that we are involve with hasn't happened yet but should take place on Friday which will increase my work load again, as if I don't have enough to don't have enough to do already.

I meet myself coming and going at work and I am so tired by the time that I get home. I told my boss that when everything settles down, I am going to take off for a couple of weeks and just disappear. He thought that was a good idea. October is when I'm going on vacation.

Sometimes I just sit back and dream of winning the lottery and doing nothing but putzing around my house and doing nothing but what I want to do, with no clocks, schedules, etc. in my life. Do you think that could happen in my life time?

I wish.

Until then, I guess it's off to bed so I can be off to work in the AM.

An Awesome Day

My sister called early on Friday morning to see if we wanted to go to her farm to pick sweet corn and ride four wheelers. We had a tee time for Saturday so we made plans for Sunday.

Cowboy and I got up and left the house by 8:30a on Saturday morning. We loaded up Sadie and we were off. We met up with both my sisters and my parents and headed out to the farm. She has a huge garden (104 tomato plants) and it goes on from there. They had planted 12 rows of sweet corn about 1/4 of a mile long. We picked a ton of corn.

Here is what we brought home. We gave two dozen ears away and still have enough to fed our whole sub division.

After the corn picking, it was off on the four wheelers. My sisters rode the big one together and I was on the smaller one. I was planning on Cowboy riding with me but he decided not to go. My oldest sister's husband rode his trail bike behind us. We rode through some amazing country side. It was wooded with rivers, creeks, stone walls mixed with fields of corn. We got to one spot when my sister pulled over and said, "I'm taking you by the river. Steer towards the bank and lean to the left." "Oh, yeah, put it in low." and she took off. For a moment, I was a little freaked out. Okay, it was more than a moment and more than a little freaked out. What if I fell off.
I made it through and didn't fall off and didn't wreck. It was fun. When then drove over an ancient wooden bridge that looked like it would fall down at any moment. Next along the river to see a small one room cabin. I could have driven on that trail a 100 more times and not have seen the beauty of it all.
We then went out to eat lunch, then off to the parents and then back home. I worked up all the corn and picked out of our garden and then gave Sadie a bath. Cowboy cleaned the car and changed the oil. We finally sat down for dinner at 9:30p--both exhausted.
We both agreed it was a good day,

I am tired

It seems that I have been talking "blogging" about work a lot lately. So here is the latest.

1) Crazyhorse Operations Manager is flipping crazy and sends me more email that are passive aggressive that I have time to read. Get a life, step up and do you job and leave me the "F" alone.

2) Because Crazyhorse Operations Manager is too busy with email--I had to take time out of my day to paint and sweep our new locations. I am the highest paid painter in our agency.

3) We are taking over a company and my head is spinning with what to do about the personnel. I know one thing for sure "Nasty Director", who thought she would go to the board of directors to have input into the merger, needs to shut up. Sorry but you won't have a job soon and there's nothing I or you can do about that.

4) My boss is going on Vacation for two weeks, back for a week and then gone again. We are in the middle of a merger and you are going on vacation. Just to let you know, I will be taking two, no maybe, three weeks off sometime soon,

I'm done and I'm tired.
