I'll tell you what I need to do

Men! They think differently and act differently and I just need to vent.

So today, work was pretty rough. I am the bad guy primarily by one very negative outspoken employee. (We had two other jobs within the agency that could have been hers.) Apparently, I am the reason that she lost her job because "I don't like her". UGGH

When I get home, I hear "you need to....." and then insert one of 15 various commands that I got from my very nurturing husband in the span of 10 minutes. It was topped off by "you need to take those shoes of when you go in the house". Why you might ask...because I stepped on wet mulch and then on dirt. OMG, cardinal sin of sins.

I'll tell you what I need to do...I need to shove my size 9 foot up your ass!

I feel so bad.

Several months ago, I got a call from my sister letting me know that she had been called into her bosses office and was let go. After 10 years, she no longer had a job. I felt so bad for her and was actually mad at her boss and the company.

Today, I was the bad guy. One by one, I called 7 people to my office to let them know that after July 19th, they no longer had a job. One employee recently lost her mother. One is 64 years old. One just lost her full time job and now her part time job. One just bought a car. Oh boy, do I feel bad. Several said they saw it coming. Some cried. Some were very angry. Some said nothing.

The business side knows, that in order for everyone else to keep their job, some had to go. I hate the balancing game. How do I keep the company going? How do I not feel so bad?

No matter what...it doesn't feel good.

The weekend

I feel like I haven't been blogging very much lately. We have been busy and it has been hot. By the time I get home from work and take care of the garden, I'm done. Cowboy is at his girlfriends (the neighbor) so I'm going to use this time to catch up.

Our garden is growing great guns. We are having some success with some things and not so much with others. The peppers are growing great guns and Cowboy gets to have either a hot banana pepper or a jalapeno with his meals. We picked so lettuce and to both of our surprise, it was pretty tasty. The baby spinach got covered by the monster peas. The peas have been very tasty. We cut them up pods and all on our salad. The radishes were a flop. We harvested 5 and pulled the rest. The tomatoes are growing great guns and putting on tomatoes. It won't be long before we are picking ripe ones daily. We have picked 3 cherry tomatoes and they were awesome. The yellow squash is growing great but keeps rotting on the ends. However, I think the blooms are not falling off and causing them to rot. So I have been making sure the blooms drop off. The cucumbers are soon going to be taking over the yard. They are monsters but no cucumbers yet. The honey bees were out this morning pollinating them. The onions have been very tasty. But most died so were hoping next year is better for them.

Thursday night, Cowboy and I went to a work functions. My company celebrated it's 40th anniversary. I have been working for them for 15 years. The celebration took place in a private car museum. As soon as I figure out how to down load pictures off my phone, I'll post them. It was the coolest thing. They also had a magician and he was very good. I got to introduce Cowboy to most of my co-workers. Cowboy was quite the gentleman and I was very proud to introduce him to everyone.

Friday, I had to go to Jeff City for a meeting. It was an early start and a long day. This morning, Cowboy and I got up around 7:30 and walked on the trail with Sadie to the farmer's market. It was a great walk be we were sweating like pigs when we got home. Poor Sadie, was done. We spent $9.50 and got green beans, potatoes, zucchini, cucumbers and a puppy pizza. We feel like the trip was worth it.

I then made an appointment for a hair cut. It has probably been a year and my hair was done to the middle of my back but you wouldn't be able to tell that because it's so curly. Now, it's short. I'm loving it. I also had them wax my eyebrows. Don't know why anyone would pluck!

Tonight is a lounge around night. I love this lazy kinds of days.

Pictures soon.

Big News

Guess who got an apartment? The daughter moved into her own apartment yesterday and today Cowboy took all of her things that have been in the house down to her. Well, as I look around, almost all of her things down to her. She has an interview tomorrow. Say a prayer she get a job. She has a car. So hopefully, this will be the time that she steps up and takes control of her life. The best part of this news is her mother got an apartment in the same complex. She'll be able to keep an eye on her and help her out.

I hope so much for C's sake that it works out for her.

I got an iPod

So a couple of weeks ago, I decided to sell my iPod at the garage sale. I knew I was getting an iPhone so I was fine with selling my iPod. It was big, bulky and a little outdated. However, I missed it then next morning when we were off to the gym. For the last two weeks, I have been without music at the gym and I hate it.

Today, I got an iPod shuffle. I combined buying cologne for Cowboy for Father's Day from Avon and got a gold shuffle. Guess what I will be doing tonight. Gym, tommow--here I come.

Father's I love

Here's to the father's I love. My dad who is an rock. He is steady and stable. You know where he comes from and his vision is clear. He was an awesome provider. As he ages, he gets softer and more loving. He gets along great with my husband and that is so important to me.

Thank you Dad for everything that you have taught me. You have given me strength, courage, an amazing work ethic, and the courage to do what ever I think I can.

Here's a cheer for my brother. He is thoughtful, kind, loving and very caring. He has become an amazing father. I admire how he has raised his children. He is actively involved in every aspect of thier lives and has guided them to become children that any parent would love to have.

Finally, to the man who holds my heart. He is a very loving father with the biggest heart in the world. I would love for him to be the father of my children. He amazes me daily with his kindness towards children.
To all the important fathers in my life and yours...Happy Father's day.

We are Cool.

The air conditioner man was here today. He was here for about 2 1/2 hours today. Lots of diagnostic test and he then called the trouble shooter to come out. After lots of looking around, we found out that that fan motor that was put in by our home warranty people last fall was installed backwards. So for $300, we are now cool.

Cowboy's plan is to call the home warranty people and try to re-coop our money.

I went out my annual blueberry picking excursion this morning. I got 7lbs of fresh blueberry for the upcoming year. I'm going back in a month and pick blackberries--yum.

We had a birthday gathering for Cowboy today. We invited his buddies up for lunch. Cowboy grilled pork chops, steak and brats. The food was awesome and the company was good. It was a good day. And the best part, we were cool.

Do you believe in Karma?

Do you believe in Karma? The essence of what comes around goes around. What you put out, you will get back.

I believe in fate. I believe in Karma. I think that our house is giving us back some Karma that we gave it. I think our house is mad at us for being so hot for so long. Now our house is not cooling us off. The air conditioner is punishing us. It's freezing up. It's not cooling. And it's making my husband one grumpy butt.

We'll have to call the fix it man. There goes all the money we saved by not running the air. I'm hoping we can get it fixed by Saturday. We are having company all day. Please, Karma, let us have luck in getting it fixed tomorrow.

We Caved!

I walked into the house and it was a whopping 90 degrees. Cowboy said he was just sitting at his computer and sweat was dripping off his head. We always try to wait until it's bad before we start the AC but the humidity was too much for this chicky babe. Within two minutes of being in the house, my back was starting to drip with sweat, not to mention the nice trickle of water between my boobs.

Ring, Ring. "Babe, I'm just calling to tell you that I'm turning on the AC". His response, "I knew you would want to." Damn right, I'm not going to melt in my own house. So we programmed the thermostat to go up to 85 during the day and 79 in the evening and at night. I shut the house up and wouldn't you know, when Cowboy came home, he walked around the entire house making sure I got everyone closed. Oh the joy of living with a neat nik.

But at least for now, I'm chillin'.

Where's my husband?

I got home from work last night and no husband. I went through the house and no husband. To the garage, no motorcycle. Mystery solved. His son called and wanted to ride so they were off. When he got home, he had to take his "motorcycle momma" out to dinner. I have a feeling that we will be spending lots of time on the bike this summer.

Side note, love, Love, LOVE my iphone. After I get it all figured out, will I'm sure I will love it so much more.

A weekend on the go

We had a pretty busy weekend. We were laying in bed on Saturday morning and Cowboy turned to me and said, "I'm torn between waxing on my bike and helping the neighbors move." So we were up early and headed over to a neighbors house to help them move.

Bless our neighbors, they are moving 3 doors down and didn't have a single thing packed. I think their plan was to move without packing. Oh, what a mess. It really made me thankful when we moved 3.4 miles, we were packed, organized and ready to move. We helped for 3 hours before we had to come home.

We had a tee time Saturday afternoon at 1:30p. We got paired with a couple. It was nice to play with another woman. That doesn't happen often. It was fun. On our way home, we stopped at the phone store and got new phones. I got my new iphone and Cowboy got the basic $9.99 phone.

When we got home, Cowboy's friend was here to admire the new bike. I got to fix them both supper before I could play with my phone. Love it, love it.

Today, my mom and sister came to the big city for shopping, lunch, more shopping and then I had to kick my sisters ass on the golf course (wii golf course). We had fun playing for a couple of hours.

After they left, Cowboy and I took a little motorcycle ride. Then we came home and decided to get mulch for a few flower beds. He finally left to ride his bike with his son. I'm praying they come home in one piece. Please be safe, Cowboy!

I'm going to have to work to rest!

The Maiden Voyage

We took the bike on the maiden voyage tonight. I didn't have to twist Cowboy's arm to hard to take me for a ride. He had been working all day on the yard and then fixed our attic fan so he was glad to get out.

We went for cheeseburgers and then back to our neighborhood for a little visiting. The motorcycle ride was great. He was a smart guy and got a bike with a back rest. It's pretty comfortable. He keeps talking about taking it on a long ride. I think I'm up for it but I'm not sure my butt is up for it.

He did good on picking the perfect bike for us.

On a side note, we went to look at phones tonight. I'm divorcing my carrier and getting a new phone tomorrow. iphone here I come.

His New Toy

Someone is a happy camper. I haven't seen Cowboy so excited in such a long time and I'm very happy for him. He gave me a spin around the block. We are in store for some fun this summer. I love riding with him.

Father's Day

As everyone is challenged by their children, so is Cowboy. I've talked about C but not much about his son. The son does well for himself but recently has had some challenges in his life that have been about him not making healthy choices for himself. Not to long ago, Cowboy challenged him about his decisions and let's just say it wasn't very pretty. Cowboy did it in a way that wasn't the smoothest but I think the Son got the point.

Today the Son gave a "little speech" (per Cowboy) to him. The Son told Cowboy that he remembers a time that he was in trouble and Cowboy wrote out a big check to bailed him out. The Son said that he appreciated Cowboy challenging his actions and showing him that what he was doing wasn't right. The Son sold his camero to buy a new motorcycle and with the left over money, gave it to Cowboy for him to buy a motorcycle for himself. Payment in full the bail out loan and for being a good dad. Cowboy was proud. I'm proud of him and of his son. It speaks volumes of the man that I married and of his caring and concern for his children.

So it looks like we have a new motorcycle in our future.

Poor Fish

In my world, there are three ways to do things, the wrong way, the right way and the Cowboy way. Seriously, my husband thinks that the way that he does things is the most right of the right way. There are some times when he tells me that I can't do things right, I'm okay with hearing that because it means that he needs to take that over and do it himself. For example, he says that I don't vacuum right, so he does all the vacuuming. Hey that's cool with me.

So this morning, I look out and guess who didn't put the lid down on the grill and didn't cover it. Silently inside I'm snickering. Then I open the sliding glass door and look to the water pond and all the fish are floating side up on the top of the pond. Poor fish. All dead. Guess who left the water hose in the pond running all night long.

Did I say, "Look who was wrong". No. But just a little inside, I was snickering. Is that wrong? Although, I did the same thing a couple of years ago. It was just a little snicker. Really little one.

Golf Game

I know that I talk a lot about golfing. We played yesterday and went to the driving range first. I tried to figure out a few things with my golf swing. I decided that I was putting too much hip action in my swing.

We teed off early and we were paired with a father son duo. Let me just say that I figured it out. I hit the ball long and straight all day and just smoked the father and son. There were several times that I even smoked my husband. It felt really good.

I even shot under 100 from the men's tees. My goal this years was to start shooting in the 90's consistently. I might be on my way.

Good day with the hubby on the golf course.

Goings Ons

Cowboy has been in a funky mood the last two days. I'm not sure what that is all about but he needs to get his act together.

Work sucks a little. My staff think that its okay not to call me when they are sick and won't be in and that I should call them to see how they are. REALLY! When did I become "15 grown ass adults" mother. REALLY.

The daughter has returned until Sunday. She has found an apartment, gotten her driver license back and is on her way to finding a job. She is in good spirits and is very excited about having her own place. I'm excited for her. I would really like to see her do well and make it on her own. Probably one of the best pieces of news is that she got on medication for anxiety and thinks that it is helping. I am super supportive of this and think it will make a world of difference.

It's the weekend and I am thrilled. Plus today was payday and I got a pedicure.

Great Morning

You couldn't help it could you, you're reading on, aren't you.

No kids in the house is a good thing for honeymooners (techinally which is what we are). The gym got bypassed or a little cardio in bed. Oh, it's good to not have kids in the home. Then a little nap and oh my, what has gotten into my husband. Back for seconds, not that I minded at all. I think we were making up for the past week.

It was a good morning,

Thanks, Cowboy!

Here's the scoop

I'm a little more rational tonight. So here's the scoop. Sunday morning I get up for the garage sale and hear the baby so I go in the bedroom to let C sleep and I get the baby. I have him until about 10:30 and when C gets up in time for his morning nap, no thanks, nothing. Then as I we finish up the garage sale, we have C go through the stuff to find things she might want for her new apartment (when she finally gets one) and again no help from her to bring the things in the house or for that fact, even a thank you.

I come in the house for a drink and she has boiled over water on the smooth cook top, which makes a total mess and to top it off, she used a metal spoon on our new pans and scraped the finish off. Deep breathe.

An hour later, I find her in the living room, with the baby in the playpen (where she has him 90% of his waking hours) sound asleep on the couch. For the next two hours.

Then last night she had two TV's on. And over the past two weeks, she had done less and less around the house.

You aren't working, not making any effort to get a job, laying around using the electricity that I'm paying for and not showing any appreciation for what we are doing for you. All contributed to a MAJOR FOUL MOOD.

Today, I get a call from Cowboy who tells me that he has just taken her to her mothers for a couple of days because she was tired of hearing him bitch. I say bitch on.

I really might feel differently if she was working and trying to better her situation and helping around the house.

Cowboy and I talked about it tonight and I am quite proud of him. He didn't fight or get defensive and really understood my feelings. MAJOR POINTS FOR HIM.

I am convinced that we will make it through this and C won't be in our house much longer.

I can hope!

Foul Mood

I am in a foul mood. Just nasty. Why? Because, the light at the end of the tunnel isn't so bright right now. Doesn't make me happy.
