What we wouldn't do to find a bargain...

Cowboy and I have become the bargain hunters. What started out as a Saturday activity has become a part of our lives only last night it went to the extreme. We are garage sale junkies and trash to treasures finders. I was letting our baby outside last night (the dog), I saw a nice little trash pile at the end of the street. (Heavy trash pick up in our neighborhood). The neighbor had just finished setting stuff out and was leaving to go somewhere. Somehow, Cowboy talked me into putting on clothes and walking down the block at 11:30p to check out the piles. I'm so sure the neighbors were looking out the windows and laughing at us, but then again we were laughing at the thought that we have gone to that level of looking for the next good bargain.

This afternoon on our way to play golf, Cowboy told me that the had gotten caught by our next door neighbor pick up carpet scraps out of a neighborhood trash pile. Hey, the carpet was new and it fit nicely in the laundry room. I am so sure our new neighborhood thinks we are the Beverly Hillbillies.

Hey, thanks for all the comments and word of encourgement. I'm sure I'll learn more about commenting on others blogs when I have more time to explore what I am doing. For now, I think it's great that I can post a blog and I'm going to try to even add a pic.

I love hearing the stories of the things you find that others have thrown out. And think of all the cool stories (or blog posts) that you have to tell about the jewels you find. I personally think it's cool that you can see something that someone else has thrown away and have this vision of how you can make it your own. You need to take some picture of the things you have found and how you have cleaned them up and made them a cool part of your home decor.

LOVE the picture of Cowboy and the dog.

Hey, I've got a nice, big, brand new carpet remnant that would do a small room! I think it's about 10' square, or something close. Wanna come get it? :D

You and Cowboy sound like my boyfriend, Man. He goes around looking at what people put out for trash.
