On the Other Side

I have read several blogs where people have lost thier jobs. It's a sucky economy and I really feel sorry for anyone without a job at the current time. I'm on the other side and I don't like it. We had to make some tough decisions at work today and we are going to have to lay some people off. No jobs for them. I feel bad for them and it's such a schmucky feeling to know that I have some role in making that decision. However, it's let a few go to save a lot or have a program fail and have a lot of people lose their job.

My back is tense and my jaws are tight, all signs of the stress that I feel. I'm not sleeping well and am just tired. There are some days that being a Wal-Mart greeter look very appealing.

sorry you are going through all this stress, wish I could help.
It will get better. Maybe you should go golfing tomorrow and whack a few balls, stress relief.
Try to get some rest over the weekend.

I am sure everyone knows that you don't want people to lose their jobs. I am sorry that you are so stressed right now. I agree with Kim...you need to get out there and hit some golf balls to relieve some stress.

Hope you have a good weekend.

I never had to "downsize." When I let someone go it was with valid concern about performance. This is a rough part of the current economic situation and your company's necessary relocation. I know little can really make you feel better about it, but I hope you can hang onto the fact that it is beyond your control.

Get some rest.

Honey a LOT of people are in the same boat. Having to let people go does suck and it is never ever easy. Best to you!
